Title: "Day Trip to Tagaytay/Manila Philippines"
About: Travel and Tourism Philippines

Going around the smoky and traffic congested city can prove to be taxing for tourists to the Philippine capital of Manila. In this case, visitors can just do what the locals do and take a drive and perhaps a picnic basket to one of the outlying provinces of Manila, Tagaytay City.

Roughly 45 minutes away from manila is the City of Tagaytay. Known to offer some of the best views of the world’s smallest active volcano, Mount Taal, Tagaytay is a favorite picnic destination for city dwellers with its many picnic groves and fresh, cool hilltop air.

One of the best places to visit in the area is the People’s Park in the Sky located at the top of 750m Mt. Sungay. The park features a shrine, walking trails, a restaurant, and breathtaking views of the Tagaytay area.

Tagaytay Picnic Grove, located along the main highway offers a picnic grove, horseback riding and roller skating grounds for visitors wanting to take in a little bit more than just the scenery.

Visitors to the city almost always pay a visit to the Mushroom Burger restaurant in Tagaytay. Famous for its huge cultured mushrooms used as burger patties, guests are assured of meals that are delicious, healthy, and very affordable.

For guests with children, a visit to the mini-safari at the Residence Inn in Tagaytay may be a treat they will never forget.

Tourists wishing to stay on and enjoy the cool air or perhaps pay a visit to neighboring provinces like Batangas and Cavite, may choose from the many hotels and inns to be found along Tagaytay’s main road.

The Taal Vista Hotel offers clean rooms and fantastic views of Taal volcano from its viewing gallery. Guests may also take a flutter at the Casino Filipino for some night entertainment with lady luck.

Holiday makers with top dollar tastes may stay at the Days Hotel located near the Silang rotunda.

Visitors may also opt to lease one of the many vacation houses available for rent on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.

Travel Tips on Visiting Tagaytay

Tagaytay City is best visited in the months of November to March as Tagaytay is often blanketed by low-lying clouds during the rainy season.

The climate in Tagaytay is much cooler than in the city. It would be recommended that visitors pack light sweaters and jackets especially at night when the air could be chilly.
